Nottingham Forest have launched a bid to sign Crystal Palace captain Dean Henderson. The report from CryptoBriefing states the Premier League side wants to reunite with the goalkeeper he spent a season with on loan.
Henderson is Crystal Palace's undisputed first choice and was named club captain in January 2026. His permanent move from Manchester United was completed on 31 August 2023 for an initial £15 million. His current market value is estimated at around €28 million. Any deal would need to exceed Palace's original investment for a player of his importance.
Dean Henderson is a familiar figure at the City Ground. He made 18 Premier League starts for Nottingham Forest during the 2022-23 loan spell before an injury ended his campaign. Forest's current transfer strategy appears focused on recruiting from Selhurst Park, having already agreed a deal for defender Daniel Munoz. Bringing in Henderson would give them an experienced goalkeeper who knows the club and the league's demands.
Losing Henderson would be a major blow for Crystal Palace. The club is reportedly in talks to extend his contract, underlining his value. Selling the captain and first-choice goalkeeper in the same window as a starting wing-back would test the team's depth. Manager Oliver Glasner would need to find a reliable replacement quickly, with the season underway. The club's current position can be tracked on the standings page.
Since his permanent arrival, Dean Henderson has been a consistent performer. He has established himself as a reliable presence in goal, contributing to the team's defensive record. His leadership was recognized with the captain's armband at the start of this year. His performances have been a key part of the team's structure under the current management.
