Crystal Palace defender Craig Farquhar has joined Barnet on a free transfer, leaving the Eagles' academy setup after a year. The 23-year-old Northern Ireland Under-21 player moved to the Premier League side's academy setup in January 2024 but did not break into the Palace first team. He began his career at Ballymena United and went on to sign for Larne, playing in a Champions League qualifier before moving to England. Farquhar is Barnet's second new signing of the summer after former Crewe Alexandra defender Zac Williams joined on a free transfer earlier this week. Manager Dean Brennan told the club website, 'Craig's a player we've looked at bringing to the club on several occasions over the last 12 months. We've known about him for a long time and we've got a great rapport with Crystal Palace. We're excited Craig's decided to join us. He's got good presence, reads the game really well, he's physical and has good footballing IQ.'
