A Crystal Palace podcaster has singled out Leeds United captain Ethan Ampadu for high praise following the goalless draw between the sides. Jonny Buchan, host of the Don't Go To Bed Just Yet podcast, said the midfielder was 'brilliant' and 'outstanding in tight spaces' during the match at Elland Road on 20 September.
Buchan's comments came after the fixture, which extended Leeds' unbeaten start to the Premier League season. The result left Crystal Palace 15th in the table with four points from their opening five matches. "I thought Ethan Ampadu was brilliant," Buchan said. "Outstanding in tight spaces. Read it really well. Cut the ball out a couple of times really well."
He went further, describing the Leeds skipper's leadership. "I thought he was a proper captain," Buchan added. "Not that he hasn't been already, but he shone for me."
The stalemate was Palace's third consecutive clean sheet in all competitions, following a 4-0 win over Lech Poznan and a 3-0 victory against Middlesbrough. Their league form, however, shows a single win, one draw and three defeats.
Oliver Glasner's side now have a break before their next Premier League assignment, a home game against Nottingham Forest on 11 October.
